Sketch Saturday #33

I've enjoyed the previous two sketch challenges so much that I've decided to work my way backwards through the previous sketch challenges on the Sketch Saturday site - when time allows that is! My goal is to get through 3 or 4 a week, so we shall see how I do :)

This lovely little stamp is from Sugar Nellie, designed by Elizabeth Bell and called Sweet 'n Sassy. She was a bit of a challenge to colour in using my Promarkers as the design is quite detailed with lots of little bits - but I think she turned out ok. Fortunately you can't see my mistakes very clearly on the photo! :)

I used Bazzill cardstock for the card. Doodlebug ribbon. The pretty paper is from the Disney Princess Range by EK Success called Princess Fairytales.

Sunday Sketch Challenge #16 - Crafts 4 Eternity

This sketch challenge was from the Crafts 4 Eternity blog site. Another site full of inspiring cards and sketches for us artistically challenged :)

Again the papers are K & Company Hopscotch Boy (pad happens to be on my desk at the moment waiting for a home). I love this Magnolia stamp - again coloured with Promarkers.

Sketch Saturday #35

Well .......... another first for me!

While trawling the internet again - blog hopping. I found the Sketch Saturday Site. If you haven't visited before make sure you have a look. They have some wonderful inspirational cards on there!

I decided to have a go a the current sketch challenge and this is what I've created this morning :) I love it! I haven't used a sketch before, but it was lovely just following it and not having to worry about working out what to put where etc. Sadly I am not very artistic. I can copy and change to make things my own, but rarely come up with glorious creations all of my own from scratch :)

The papers are Hopscotch Boy from K & Company and the Magnolia stamp was coloured using Promarker pens.

What A Day!

Had a very eventful day yesterday!

My baby (Poppy) started her first season. She's 9 months and we weren't expecting it just yet as Lily's was later. Pops has been nesting for a couple of weeks now, so we knew something was up. She drags all her blankies from her crate onto and around Lily's bed and makes herself at home :) She doesn't seem much bothered by it all at the moment, but definitely doesn't like not having the run of the house!

While cooking tea last night, I discovered to my horror that Lily has started to eat her way through our Breakfast room wall! She has never done anything like that before ... but now won't leave the darn thing alone. I've had to put a chair against it for now to try and stop her. But she keeps dragging the chair away to get at it!

Finally while going into the kitchen to make the kids sarnies for school last night, I was greeted by several streams of water pouring from the ceiling! I could have wept then! We bought a new house and moved in at the end of May last year. We've had lots of niggles with it and a couple of big problems - but this is by far the most horrific to have to face.

The plumber arrived first thing this morning and finally found the problem in the heating system. The builders had nailed the skirting on in one of the bathrooms and pierced a pipe. It looks like it has been leaking very slowly all this time, but due to house settling etc., had eventually become a full blown leak! My poor ceiling! I have huge holes in it now and in one of the bathroom walls upstairs! I know the builders will put it all right (eventually) BUT!!!!!!

Matchbox Advent Calendar

Another project from last year. This time for my daughter to give to one of her friends. The whole thing took me hours to complete, but I loved doing it. One of my goals for this year is to get six of these made before this Christmas, so my daughter can give them to each of her gym group members and her coach.

The hardest thing about the project was finding gifts small enough to fit in the matchboxes. Nice chocolates are fairly easy to come by, but we spent weeks looking for other goodies. We finally settled on hairbands, hair slides, phone charm, key ring, mood ring and some very small crafting goodies.

Grandparents Day

This project was made using products from a recent QVC TSV from Cosmo Cricket. The children gave it to one of their Grannies for Grandparents Day last year.

I was quite pleased with the finished look, especially as it was the first time I had made anything like it. I learnt a lot during the process - especially after making lots of mistakes, that I hopefully won't repeat on the next one I do! :)

Blog Candy Hunter!

I had great fun last night trawling the internet on a search for blog candy! I found quite a few and some absolutely gorgeous blog sites at the same time, which I plan to revisit today. I've managed to get a list set up, which I'm happy with but cannot work out how you add a photo of the candy next to the links - will need to spend some more time on that soon :)

First Posting

Well. I've finally gone and got myself a BLOG! I've set it up and now haven't a clue how to go about organising it and filling it with goodies :) Hopefully over the next couple of weeks I'll get the hang of things and be able to sort everything out.
