Convention 2012 - Freebies!

For Convention this year we were able to register early - on the Thursday evening. The highlight of this was receiving our Convention bags.

The bags contain goodies ...... a copy of the current catalogue and a commemorative pen.

Also inside were stamp sets! :o)

We also picked up our name tags and lanyard together with a commemorative badge and any award badges we had earned over the year. I had one for sales, which meant that I got to walk across the stage at the awards ceremony the next night :o)

Also on the Thursday evening was the very first European Silver 2 Reception! Anyone with a title of Silver 2 or above gets invited to this. It included presentations and after dinner drinks and nibbles.

At the end of the evening we were all given this beautiful gift.

It was a fabulous night!

European Convention - Gifts

These three boxes contain gifts for some very special people who are also attending Convention :o) I wanted to make something different and thought for a long time about what I could possibly do! Much to my horror ...... for some reason I decided to use fabric and sew something!

I haven't used a sewing machine for decades and most of my confidence had disappeared over that time. Nevertheless I stuck with it, found a lovely little tutorial on the web and set about making my gifts :o)

I love all of Stampin' Up!'s fabrics. I love the quality and how they co-ordinate with the various product suites they are in. I'm really pleased with the results - although the first one was a bit dodgy (at the front) - the others got better each time.

The bag can be used for lots of things - makeup, toiletries or crafting tools. They are quite roomy inside.

The back one I made for Sandra and uses the Summer Smooches fabric (page 171).

The one on the left is for Amanda and on the right is for Monica. Both of these use some more of the lovely Essentials Fabric.

The front one was my prototype! And ........ it's for me :o) It uses the Orchard Harvest Fabric from the Autumn/Winter catalogue (page 30).

The flowers on the front are more of the brooches - similar to my Bag Tags - so they will detach if you want them to. I made single flowers for the middle two bags and double flowers for the ones on the side.

My final gift is for another very special person. Chris is one of our Demo Support Team in Germany and looks after all the UK Demos. He is the most wonderful person and so helpful. It's always a pleasure to talk to him - and I have done that many times over the years :o) However, I've never met him. This year he will be at Convention too, so lots of Demos will finally get to meet him - I hope he can cope with all of us!

This box contains a little gift I bought for him. When writing this, I've realised that I've forgotten to take a pic of it - and it's now packed away in my case! But it just contains a little tin mug with the slogan 'Keep Calm .... and .... Rule Britannia' on it. I think he will find it amusing!:o)

European Convention - Bag Tags

At Convention we get many free gifts. One of the first ones is the 'Convention Bag'. Everyone gets the same one. With 850 Demos all carrying the same bag, it can sometimes lead to problems when identifying your own. So ......... everyone makes a Tag of some description to help make your own bag unique.

This year, I haven't made Tags as such, but Brooches :o) I am so fortunate to be going this year with Sandra - one of my Downline. As a little surprise for her, I've made her a brooch too :o) We will be able to pin them to our bags as soon as we receive them.

I have used some of the Essentials Designer Fabric to create them (page 170 main Catalogue). The colours are Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight. Our Convention bags will be Daffodil Delight with Grey trim. Sadly we haven't got any Grey fabric, so I've added the Early Espresso  I'm sure they'll look lovely on the bags anyway :o)

European Convention - General Swaps

If this post is published when I think I've scheduled it for then - I'm now on my way to Stampin' Up!'s European Convention! I am so looking forward to it. I wasn't able to go last year and missed it enormously. Hopefully I won't miss any more!

It's being held in Mainz, Germany this year. Approximately 850 Demo's from the UK, Germany and France will be attending.

It all starts tonight with a Reception for all Demonstrators at Silver 2 Level or above. This is the first time this is being held and it's very exciting :o)

Those not attending the Reception will get to book in early and do Make & Takes - so everyone will be looked after.

The cards above are those I have made for my general swaps. I've made almost 200 of these - it's a good job I love this stamp set! They are very simple, because I wanted to make lots - but still pretty :o)

Stamps : Field Flowers
Colours : 2012 - 2013 In Colors
Other Products : Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Fingers crossed there will be another post tomorrow!
