Dress Up - Pop 'N Cuts Class

My June Project Classes used the fabulous Pop 'N Cuts cardbase and Dress Form pop-up - as well as the Dress Up Framelits.

We made two fancy fold cards together with a straightforward fold card.

The top right picture shows the front of the pop-up card.

The papers are the beautiful Tea For Two and I teamed these with Calypso Coral and Always Artichoke cardstock.

If you would like to purchase the instructions for this set, the details are below ......

Heat Embossing - Brads

This was another of my Technique cards for this month.

The Technique this time was to show how to heat emboss brads - although you can do this for any metal embellishment.

It's really simple to do, you cover the brad with Versamark ink and dip it into the embossing powder before heating it.

You will want to hold the brad firmly by the prongs with pliers, or something similar. Obviously being metal, the brads get very hot when you use the Heat Tool.

Stamp Set: Delicate Doilies, Curly Cute
Papers: Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP
Colours: Lucky Limeade, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Tools: Fancy Flower Punch
Accessories: Antique Brad

Betsy's Blossoms - Dye Based Ink - Heat Embossing

This is one of the cards we created at my Technique classes this month.

There are various ways you can use your Dye based ink pads when Heat Embossing and this card showcases one of the methods.

Firstly ink up your stamp using Versamark. Then ink again over the Versamark using your chosen Dye based ink pad. Stamp your image and cover it with Clear Embossing Powder before Heating with your Heat Tool.

The result you get is a little lighter than just stamping with the original colour, but it's lovely nonetheless :o) And ..... you can emboss with any colour. So if Stampin' Up! hasn't got Embossing Powders in your favourite colours, you can still produce a similar effect really easily :o)

With the new Firm Foam ink pads, you don't even have to use Versamark. After the image is stamped, the ink stays wet long enough to hold the Embossing Powder. You must ensure your pad is nice and juicy though!

Stamp Set: Betsy's Blossoms
Colours: Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Daffodil Delight
Other Products: Rhinestone
Big Shot: Apothecary Accent Framelits, Chevron Embossing Folder
Tools: Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

Sneak Peek - Wildflower Meadow - Card and Box set

This was the last of my projects for the display I created at our recent UK Regional Training day.

I have used the Wildflower Meadow stamp again, but this time I've also used some of the fabulous Gingham Garden Washi Tape.

I used Stampin' Markers to match the colours in the Washi Tape to ink up the stamp. The large flower heads were stamped again and cut out to layer on top of the main image.

Because the tape is sticky, it can be a bit tricky to cut. So I put strips of it onto waxed paper before cutting the flag ends.

This little box is one of our Kraft Gift Boxes.

I repeated the stamping from the card for the top of the box and added little strips of the Washi Tape to co-ordinate.

The sides were covered with paper from the Polka Dot Parade DSP.

Stamp Sets: Wildflower Meadow, That's The Ticket
Papers: Polka Dot Parade DSP
Colours: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Basic Black
Other Products: White Baker's Twine, Vintage Faceted Button
Tools: Ticket Duo Punch, Kraft Gift Box
Big Shot: Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder

Pop 'N Cuts - Gift Card Holder

This was the Make & Take my Team made at our Team Meeting this month.

It uses the Pop 'n Cuts Card Base to create a Gift Card Holder - although it could be used for a voucher or cash too.

I found this design on Sandi Dailey's blog. With just a few score lines you can create the Gift Card Holder. It's very quick and easy to do.

The flower is created using the Blossom punch and our Creped Filter Paper. I stapled 8 layers of the paper together and then centred the staple in the middle of the Blossom punch and punched it out. Each layer is then scrunched around the staple.

I used a sponge dauber and Primrose Petals ink to add just a little colour to the edges of the flower and then carefully opened it out.

I love the effect you get using the Blossom Punch with this paper. It's a bit of a pain once you have punched it - because the 'petals' of the punch tend to catch and tear the paper when you try and remove it - but I really like the result and it's a little different to using a circle punch.

The sentiment was stamped in White Craft Ink and then Heat Embossed with White Embossing Powder. This was then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.

Not all my Team knew how to put the white layer behind the sentiment, so I did a quick demo to show them.

You punch two more Decorative Labels from Whisper White cardstock. Each of these is cut down the centre - one vertically and the other horizontally.

Each piece is trimmed slightly and then stuck on the reverse of the stamped section. Easy Peasy :o)

Stamp Set: Bring On The Cake
Colours: Primrose Petals, Whisper White
Big Shot: Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Pop 'n Cuts Card Base
Tools: Decorative Label Punch
Other Products: Creped Filter Paper, White Embossing Powder, White Baker's Twine

Sneak Peek - Wildflower Meadow - Scrapbook Page

Last month Stampin' Up! held their UK Regional Training Day at Telford. It's a fabulous day where Demonstrators from all over Europe can get together.

Stampin' Up! asked me to do a display focusing on some of the new products coming soon in our new Annual Catalogue. They sent me the gorgeous Wildflower Meadow stamp and a pack of the new Gingham Garden Washi Tape to use for this.

My first project was a 12" x 12" Scrapbook page.

I inked up the stamp using my Stampin' Markers and repeat stamped it across the bottom of the page - lining up the images using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I only wanted the flowers stamped, so using the markers was the easiest way to do this.

I stamped the larger flower heads again onto scrap Whisper White cardstock. These were cut out and layered using Dimensionals onto the full images. I then added Basic Pearls to all the flower heads.

The Pacific Point (blue) strip across the top was stamped with the full image across it. Again, I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure the birds where stamped where I wanted them :o)

These gorgeous flowers were created using the Creped Filter Paper. I cut 8 layers out for each (you can cut all the layers in one go) using the Floral Frames Framelits. These I then scrunched up and coloured with Sponge Daubers and the ink pads before carefully opening the petals out.

The large flowers were held together with an Antique Brad and the little flowers with the brads from the Vintage Trinkets.

The leaves were created using the Secret Garden Framelits.

I haven't used the Washi Tape on this project ..... but you can see what I did with it soon :o)

Stamp Set: Wildflower Meadow
Colours: Basic Black, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Old Olive
Other Products: Creped Filter Paper, Vintage Trinkets, Antique Brads, Basic Pearls
Big Shot: Floral Frames Framelits, Secret Garden Framelits
