Petal Parade - 2, 4, 6, 8 Treat Box

I have a little Treat Box to share with you today.

This little box gets its name by the measurements you score it by.

You start with a piece of card measuring 8 1/4" x 6". (Note: if you are in the US, use 8 1/2" x 6". This will give you a wider tab for gluing. Here in the UK our cardstock is narrower).

Score it on the longer edge at 2", 4", 6" and 8"
Rotate it a quarter turn and score on the 6" side at 2" and 4".

After scoring you will have 4 main vertical sections and a narrow strip down one side. Remove the top and bottom portions of this narrow strip.

To create the bottom tabs, cut along the vertical score lines - up to the horizontal score line.

To create the top of the box cut along the scored lines as you did for the bottom tabs. Then feed 2 of the top flaps into the Scalloped Tag Topper punch (one at a time!). You will need to turn the punch upside down and check that you are feeding the 'flap' in all the way - then punch.

Crease all the scored lines using a Bone Folder. Then add glue to the remaining middle section of the narrow strip and stick it to the opposite edge. This will form the box shape.

Fold and stick the bottom tabs inwards.

Fold in the two top flaps (that weren't punched). Then add your ribbon through the holes at the top of the remaining flaps.

Decorate and you are done :o)

I used the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Petal Parade for most of my box. The sentiment comes from another SAB stamp set called You're Lovely. Don't forget you can choose either of these stamp sets for FREE when you spend £45.00.
