May - Scrapbook Class

This was the page we created at this month's Scrapbook class. Only one Page this time as it was a little complex.

The inspiration for this Page came from a card I spotted, created by Julie Kettlewell - which you can see here. I LOVE this card! I actually CASE'd it almost exactly for one of my Technique class cards this month :o) I thought the daffodils were so cute!

It was one of those cards that I couldn't put away and I kept returning to it. I knew I wanted to do something else with it .... and that's when this Page started to form in my head.

Now, the picture in my head was a lot busier than the Page turned out to be. I had an open gate in the centre. There was a mail box to one side too - this you could lift up the top and add some journalling inside :o) There were all different types of flowers too!

Of course, the final Page had to be simplified to get everything onto a 12"x12" sheet and also to give my ladies a chance to finish it within the class time. But I'm really happy with how it turned out anyway :o)

I haven't used the Bird or Owl punches in forever! It was so nice to get these out again to play with.

The Bunnies were created using circle punches. Their tails were created from our Filter paper.

The clouds were created using one of the framelits from the Word Bubbles set - perfect!

Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation! - Part 4

Thursday was another 'Sea' day. It was also the Walk-a-thon day!

All the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators and their guests were invited to walk laps around the boat to raise funds for the Mission of Hope  charity building homes in Haiti.

Stampin' Up! donated money for each lap completed, up to a total of 10 laps each.

They provided us with some rather gorgeous Pumpkin Pie T-shirts! :o)

(Photo shamelessly pinched from the Stampin' Up! UK Facebook Page!)

It was really hard going as it was so hot, but Lauren and I did all 10 laps of the ship!

The Event was a huge success! Over $10,000 was raised on the morning!

In the afternoon Stampin' Up! held a Share Fair in the Hospitality room. Several Demonstrators from around the Globe highlighted  ways in which we can use new forthcoming products!

Today was also the day that I got to pick up my bag of swaps! If you remember I made 26 of mine. Stampin' Up! got to keep one for their display boards, but the remaining 25 were swapped with other Demonstrators on the cruise!

We spent the rest of the day relaxing ..... and not doing much at all really. It was lovely :o)

Our Pillow Gift that night was a voucher for Stampin' Up! Tops. We had to try these on, so didn't actually pick them up until the next day. Lauren choose the 'male' blue top and I stayed with the ladies full zip jacket. Both are absolutely fabulous!
