This is one of the designs created at my Technique class this week.
I pretty much CASE'd this one from the lovely Kay Kalthoff - who was inspired by a swap she had received from Lyn Anderson. Kay has a video tutorial to show you how to create her version of this card :o)
I adjusted the sizes of the centre mat layers to fit with our European card size, but other than that, it's pretty much a copy :o)
The only change I did make was the Star. I wanted to show my ladies how easy it is to create these dimensional Stars. They were then able to practice both and choose which style to use for their own card.
Both Stars have been heat embossed using Silver Embossing Powder.
They were then scored on the reverse from the centre of each point straight down to the opposite side (where the base of two points meet).
You can either create a concave Star or a convex one - depending how you fold on the scored lines :o)
To create the concave Star, crease the scored lines down the middle of each point - to the centre of the Star - into 'Valley' folds.
The scored lines between the base of each set of points - to the centre of the Star - should be creased into 'Mountain' folds.
To create the convex Star, crease the scored lines down the middle of each point - to the centre of the Star - into 'Mountain' folds.
The scored lines between the base of each set of points - to the centre of the Star - should be creased into 'Valley' folds.
The Stars are attached using Mini Glue Dots.
