Six Quick and Easy Backgrounds - Using Eclectic Expressions

Hi There! :o)

This week saw the release of more FREE products for our Sale-a-Bration Promotion.

Eclectic Expressions is one of those 'funny' stamp sets that you may pass over initially. It actually caught my eye because of the sentiments. I love the fonts used and that they are simply 'Happy Birthday' and 'Thank You' :o)

Out of all the new products in this release, I decided that this stamp set would be the first one I would play with :o)

These first three cards use all the inks from the 2016 - 2018 In Colour Collection.

For my first card, I only used the solid round stamp. This stamp would make a great Moon or Sun image. There is another stamp in the set that makes perfect raindrops and yet another stamp that would make a great Cloud, so I can easily see myself using this set when wanting to do Sky scenes on future cards.

However, for this first one I randomly stamped the image all over the background layer using each of the five In Colours of ink in turn.

You cannot see in the photo, but what really makes this card is the gorgeous subtle glitter I added to each of the circles using my Clear Wink of Stella pen.

My second card is very similar to the first, but this time I filled in all the white areas using another of the stamps in the set - again stamping it with all the In Colours.

I used the Clear Wink of Stella pen just on the large circles.

You can see that I kept with a similar look for my third card. I used two of the other images in the set ..... both of these could pass for Clouds if you wanted them to :o)

Each of these first three cards used some of the Dapper Denim Striped Grosgrain ribbon on them. I love this ribbon, it's so easy to tie perfect little Bows with it!

On to my fourth card. I stayed with all the same In Colours with this one. The stamp used is like a little Bar Code. I stamped it across the card using my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for placement. You could easily do this Freestyle BUT I like things to be straight and orderly :o), so used the tool.

My stamped colours had a sequence to them and I stamped them each in turn. There is also a pattern to the stamping - although this isn't obvious to see. I did mess up a few times, but you wouldn't notice it and I wasn't too worried when it happened :o)

The die cut word is from another Sale-a-Bration set - from the first release - the Celebrate You thinlits dies. I cut this out three times from Black card, with some of our Multipurpose Double Sided Adhesive sheet on the back. This made it quick and easy to stack them on top of each other. Once in position, I coated it completely using the Fine Tip glue pen. I admit, I do prefer to use a clear Glaze normally for this but you still get a very good result with the Fine Tip glue.

This fifth card is quite similar to the third one but I only used the larger of the two 'Cloud' stamps for it. I also tried to cover the mat completely with ink, leaving very little white space showing - I overlapped the images to do this.

There are lots of different Blues on this card and no In Colours. I used Pool Party, Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point and Night of Navy.

And finally ...... my last card is super simple. I just used Sweet Sugarplum ink for this one and again used the little Bar Code stamp  for the Oval panel.

The dies are more from the Celebrate You Thinlits. Again, I cut out three layers for these and stacked them together. This time I did use a Glaze to cover them. Having that shine on the card really adds a little 'extra', especially when the design is very simple.

Don't forget that all the products in our Sale-a-Bration promotion are available for FREE with a qualifying purchase. Full details can be found in the flyers in my left sidebar. Remember also that this Promotion ends on 31st March!
