Flying Home With Petal Palette

Hi There! I know I'm very late posting today. I usually set up my posts weeks ahead of time, but I've been caught up and am struggling to get ahead again :o) And ..... today is my Birthday, so that's a pretty good excuse .... isn't it? :o)

I have finally inked up my Flying Home stamp set and used it! Oh My Goodness what have I been doing? The Last Chance List is out and there are still a few stamp sets on there that I have but haven't used! I have improved this year, but it's still bad! Especially because I love this set in particular out of the entire Spring / Summer catalogue and I haven't used it before today.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image with Basic Black ink and then overstamped it with Versamark before heat embossing with Clear Powder. I have discovered that when the image is made up of small sections (like the flowers here) and I'm using my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers, I like to have that slightly raised edge to help me contain the colour! Soon our Black Embossing Powder will be back in our Catalogue, so this won't always be such a convoluted thing to do, but for now it works fine and gives me what I want :o)

I used most of our current collection of Blends to colour this. The only ones I omitted were Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy. You are not currently able to order any of the Blends Markers as they are on back order - BUT they will be back soon!

The patterned paper is from our Birthday Memories pack.

I used some of our Cardstock Vellum to create an overlay for the paper after running it through the Big Shot with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. I attached this by adding tiny pieces of Glue Dot into the corners and full Glue Dots under the stamped panels.

The Sentiment is from the Petal Palette stamp set.
