Love What You Do - Friend Like You

I chose the Love What You Do for today's card. I keep returning to this set ... it's just so pretty!

This was a very quick card to do :o)

I used some of our Thick Whisper White card as the base and stamped the sentiment right into the bottom right corner using Rich Razzleberry ink.

The flowers and leaves were stamped in Old Olive and I coloured them using Rich Razzleberry ink with one of the 'splotch' stamps in the set. The little flowers surrounding it are stamped in Petal Pink.

The paper is from the Share What You Love 12" Specialty stack.

Making A Simple Box - With Four Equal Sides

I have another Video tutorial for you today. This one will show you how I made the box on the left.

It's not a quick 'how-to' showing you only what I did to make it, but a more in-depth tutorial showing you how you can make this style of box for any small item you have that has a round or square base. I show you how I calculate all the measurements I need for the dimensions and for the scoring.

If you struggle to re-fit box designs to items you want to package, or if you just struggle with boxes generally then this Video will be great for you. If you are a beginner and want to learn some of the basics in box making, you will also benefit from this Video :o)

I created this box to hold a small bottle of Bath / Shower gel. It has a round bottom, so all the sides of the box are equal - this makes for very simple box making :o)

The closure is on the lid of the box. There is a lip that you just slot in to the body of the box. The side tabs keep this in place and stop the lid falling down inside the box itself.

I decorated it very simply using paper from the Garden Impressions 6" stack and a sentiment from the Very Vintage stamp set.

Here is the Video ....

Measurements:

NOTE: Generally, I use imperial measurements (inches) when I use the Simply Scored board - these I will not normally convert to metric (cm's).

For everything else, I tend to use metric measurements and I will try and convert these to imperial for those that prefer to use them.

Blueberry Bushel card                                    8¾"  x 7½"

Score on the LONG side at:
1¾",  6½”  and  8¼"

Score on the SHORT side at:
1¾",  3½”,  5¼"  and  7"

Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon              20cm  (8") approx

The paper sizes you need are:

(4)                                                                     11.5cm  x  4cm     (US 4½"  x  1½")
(1)                                                                     4cm        x  4cm     (US 1½"  x  1½")

Blended Seasons - Christmas

Today's card will probably be my last using the Blended Seasons bundle. The stamp set and framelits .... and the new Watercolour Pencils will all go at the end of this month, so you only have a few days left to get your hands on them! You can find all the details HERE.

I decided to use the Holly stamp this time and create a Christmas card - I think this is my first for this year!

I cut my mat from Whisper White card using the middle sized framelit first and then stamped the image at the top and bottom of it using Black Versafine ink. This was then heat embossed using Clear Powder.  I used the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers for the colouring.

I wanted more dimension on my card, so repeated the stamping and colouring onto some scrap Whisper White card and then cut the Holly and Berries out by hand. I layered these on top of the original stamping using Dimensionals.

Please note that the Real Red and Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends alcohol markers are not available to purchase until 5th September.

The Bell was stamped, embossed and coloured in the same way.

It's worth noting that this is the only image in the stamp set that has a coordinating die in the framelits set - all the other dies are completely independent to the stamp set. I mention this because although I love the stamp set (especially the large floral image), I absolutely adore the framelits - especially the 3 large layering dies. The two products work great together, but they work equally as well on their own :o)
