Beach Happy - More Sunny Days

Good Morning! Today I'm showing you the last of the Beach Happy cards that I created last week.

I did a little sponging on the circle mat before stamping, using both Balmy Blue and So Saffron. The image was then stamped in Basic Grey ink. I used my Blender Pen and Crumb Cake ink to fill in the frame on the Deck Chair.

I then did a little paper piecing. I stamped the images onto Pacific Point DSP from the Brights 6" paper stack and then cut out the bits I needed by hand and stuck them on to the image.

I created a little mask for the sun using a Circle Punch and sponged the 'sky' part first. I then switched my mask to protect the sky and sponged the Sun. I used So Saffron ink first and then a little Calypso Coral ink.

And ..... guess what????? :o) I hand drew the Birds! I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to do this and they came out great! I was really pleased, this is something I'll usually mess up completely! :o)

Beach Happy - Embossed Resist Watercolour Background - Video Tutorial

In today's Video I show you how I created these cards. I've been playing with the Beach Happy stamp set all week and have really enjoyed creating with it :o)

The large centre panel is Watercolour card. Stampin' Up! do sell this in small packs but I didn't use theirs (will link it below). I purchase mine in large books and used the Strathmore Cold Press Watercolour card.

I used my Stamparatus to emboss the Trees and then Watercoloured the background using an Aqua Painter.

This card was inspired by one from our current Spring / Summer catalogue (UK page 37 - you will know which one I mean as soon as you see it). I fell in love with this card, which is what caused me to purchase the stamp set in the first place. I didn't copy the card, but instead created another with a similar feel :o)

The Crushed Curry paper mat comes from the Classic Garage 6" Designer Series paper stack. The patterns on this paper are really bold and bright with designs aimed towards masculine projects. The reverse side is much more muted with subtle designs. These are very useful for cards for many different occasions.

Here is the Video ...
