Woven Heirlooms - Wedding Card and Box

Today I'm sharing a special card with you :o) I created this one for my Niece and her future Husband who are getting married in a couple of weeks time :o)

This was my first time using the Woven Heirlooms bundle of products and I love how it turned out.

Now .... I've used lots of different die sets for this card and box. I wouldn't normally do that when showcasing projects on my Blog .... BUT this is for a very special occasion and I didn't compromise with what I wanted to do :o)

This frame is just beautiful. I did struggle initially lining it up with the embossing folder and getting it just right, but now I've worked out what Big Shot sandwich I need to use it comes out perfect every time. Don't be afraid to experiment when using products for the first time, sometimes it takes a little trial and error to get things right. Always start off with 'scrap' cardstock until you are happy :o)

Just looking at this lovely card makes me happy ... I am so pleased with it. I sometimes struggle creating things for specific people and would much rather create without having any particular person in mind.

Of course I had to make a coordinating Card Box to protect the card and keep the sweet Flower uncrushed :o)

I have a Video showing you how to make these Boxes for Standard sized cards i.e. made for cards created with ½ a sheet of A4 or 8½" x 11" card.

Here it is ...

Beautiful Bouquet with Heirloom Frames

I've been playing with the Heirloom Frames and Embossing Folders ... and I really like them! :o) They are a lot simpler to use than I expected them to be.

I chose some of the new design paper from the Subtles 6" stack for my background. I'm so happy we still have gingham ... it's a must have for card making!

I used the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and coordinating Bouquet Bunch dies for all the flowers and the sentiment. The sentiment is actually a little smaller than I wanted ... but I didn't want to pull in another stamp set, so I stuck with it :o)

I think it all makes for a great Spring-like card :o)

Good Morning Magnolia - Double Dutch Fold Card - Video Tutorial

Good Morning! :o)

I am excited for you to see today's Video Tutorial! It shows you how to create the above Double Dutch Fold cards.

I used the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and coordinating Magnolia Memory and Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. I love these cards! This is my first go at 'Double Dutch Fold' cards ..... note that these also have quite a view other alias' too!

I have seen this style of card around for years but it never really appealed until I actually gave it a go! It's really lovely ... and so versatile. You don't have to add such a large centre panel if you don't want to. In fact you don't have to add any additional panels. The choice is entirely up to you :o)

The cards fold flat, so can go into a standard size envelope - unless you make them too dimensional (see my next one!).

In the Video I give you sizing for both A4 and 8½" x 11" users.

Now .... this one is my favourite! Just look at that magnificent Magnolia. This one is made up of four layers and I love it!

Don't let the size of this flower put you off the stamp set. It's so quick and easy to colour ... and I'm no expert! It just looks great no matter what :o)

This style of card can stand up in two different ways. The first above shows you with the centre panel in front of the 'doors' - I prefer this way :o)

The second photo shows you with the centre panel behind the 'doors'. If designing a card with this way in mind make sure your decorations dont' extend off the sides of the centre panel ... they may get in the way of the 'doors'.

This is the card I create in the Video. I give you lots of hints and tips too regarding the colouring of the Rhinestones, changing the shape of the die cuts used for the centre panel and precise stamping with the Stamparatus. It's definitely worth a watch :o)

The above is a side view of the card.

And ... here is what it looks like inside - so pretty!

Here is the Video ... I hope you enjoy it and decide to leave me a comment :o)
