Magnolia Blooms - Happy Birthday - Technique Video

I used the Magnolia Blooms stamp set for today's card. Now you won't find this set in the Annual Catalogue .... only in the Beginner Crafter Brochure. There is a link to this in my left sidebar.

The stamp set coordinates with the Good Morning Magnolia set which is in the main catalogue, but this one is Photopolymer. It's a wonderful set with images and sentiments .... and I really like it as a stand alone set, you don't also need to have the Good Morning Magnolia set to create lovely projects with it :o)

I wanted to create a card that would coordinate with the Gift Box I showed you in my previous post. I didn't want to use a large Flower for the front of it and have to make another box to hold it :o)

So ... this is what I came up with.

I love this little image from the stamp set. It's prefect to stamp 'randomly' too as it just fits around itself perfectly every which way!

Now then :o) I actually had another stamped mat ready. I was originally going to use Terracotta Tile instead of Rococo Rose for my Gift Box, but changed my mind during the process of making it. So ...... I decided to make another card using the panel and also highlighting a die-cutting Technique at the same time.

Did you spot the difference with this card? It's very subtle, but awesome at the same time :o)

The main panels look different. You can see an even border of Terracotta Tile around this one - it's not wider at the point like my first card.

Here are the two cards together, so you can see the difference easier ...

Don't get me wrong .... I love the original dies. What I also love though is that they are versatile and you can change the shape of them subtlely .... or significantly .... if you wish to.

Here is a short Video showing you how ...

The Technique shown isn't limited to the Stitched Nested Labels dies, you can do this with many different ones. It's easier if they are 'stitched' because the rows of little holes help you line things up straight. Our Stitched Shapes Square and Rectangle dies are other  perfect examples that you could play with to alter their sizes or shapes :o)
