I have two very pretty cards to share with you today! They required a lot of work to create them, but I think it was well worth the effort.
These are Diamond Easel cards. I first came across this style of card through Sam Clayton's video channel - Mixed Up Crafts. I thought this card fold was fabulous and would suit our Free As A Bird product bundle perfectly.
Now then, we do not have any framelits for this stamp set so any cutting out has to be done with scissors! Unless you have a Scan 'n Cut that is :o) I haven't! It took me almost an hour to stamp, colour and cut out all the little elements needed for this card ... and that excludes colouring the main panel. There is a list of what you need below.
Of course, you could simplify this card a lot and cut down on all the fussy cutting ... but this was what I designed and wanted to make :o) And ... I don't mind fussy cutting at all, I find it very theraputic!
I think this card is beautiful. I love the images and the papers are some of my favourite.
This is the side view of the card.
It folds flat and could be sent out in an envelope without a problem - there isn't really anything that could get squashed. But ... I would give it in a Box I think. It's a 'special' card and it deserves a little fanfare! You can find a Box tutorial suitable for it HERE.
I used the Stitched Nested Labels dies and altered the shape of the Black ones again so you get an even border around the layered White panels - I show you briefly how to do this again in the Video.
The above photos show the card opened out. There is a large panel inside where you can write your message.
I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for all the stamping and coloured using the Stampin' Blends Alcohol markers. I did very simple colouring - there was quite a lot to do and I needed it to be fairly quick :o) I do show most of the colouring for this panel in the Video, but have time stamped it so you can skip it if you aren't interested in watching it all :o)
This was my original card. I created a wider border of Pool Party around the paper for this one. If you prefer this look to the one above then you just need to reduce the size of the paper panels (nothing else) by about 1/8" (3mm). NOTE: The paper square you cut to make the inside triangles will need to be 2 3/8" (6.1mm).
Here is the Video ...

What do you mean by DSP1 and DSP2
ReplyDeleteDSP1 and DSP2 stand for Designer Series Paper. The 1 and 2 just mean I've used two different sheets from the pack x
