Nature's Beauty with the Woodland Embossing Folder - Video Tutorial

Today's Video is for a technique I first tried about four years ago. I used the Woodland Embossing folder with the Lovely As A Tree stamp set that time ... you can see my original card HERE.

I had a great time playing with this technique again, this time using the very special Nature's Beauty stamp set.

This stamp set is special not only because it is so adorable but because for each one sold in the UK Stampin' Up! are donating £2.50 towards Mental Health Organisations here.

This was my first attempt with the lovely Deer. As you can see I didn't place the higher Deer up high enough and his nose was partially covered by one of the branches. The lower Deer worked out fine. So be careful where you place your stamped images on the folder if you try this technique.

I started by applying Balmy Blue ink directly onto the inside of the Woodland embossing folder. I tried to keep the area where I would be stamping clear, so I didn't end up with blue Deer!

I then stamped the Deer using Early Espresso ink onto the folder. My white mat was added to the opposite side and I closed the folder and ran it through my Die Cutting machine. That's basically all there is to it :o)

This was the second card I created. The Tree is from the Winter Woods stamp set.

I added some of the sequins from the Snowflake Sequins pack to all the cards. They just add a little more sparkle.

The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Chrismtas stamp set.

Here is the card I created in the Video. It's pretty much identical to the first one. I had just re-inked my ink pad, so the Blue is a lot deeper - it took no time at all to ink up the folder too. I wish I had done it before creating the other cards, they took ages to ink up! :o)

For this one I also forgot to run some Night of Navy ink around the sides and top of the embossed panel before adding it to the Early Espresso layer. I did this for my original card.

The Deer were lightly watercoloured using an Aqua Painter and Crumb Cake ink. I also added a little Smoky Slate ink to the trees.

Here is the Video ...
