Stampin Friends Blog Hop - All About Flowers

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop!

This month's theme is all about Flowers and Moms. In the UK our Mother's Day is in March, so I decided to go with Flowers for my projects this time :o)

If you are following along with the Hop, you would have arrived from Jean's Blog.

Be sure to read through my post, comment below and then continue on to  Tiziana's Blog.

If you get lost along the way, you can find a full list of all the participants at the end of each of their Blog Posts.

Here are the projects I created for this month's Hop ...

I used the Bloom & Grow stamp set and created a Window Scene card and Treat Bag.

You can find a Video below showing you how I created the card.

I've wanted to make these cards for quite a while but held off so I could create them for this month's theme :o)

This was my first time using the images from the Bloom & Grow stamp set and I thought they would work well in the Window Boxes - they are actually a little large but I still love how they turned out.

All the Flowers were coloured using the Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

This was my 'trial' card. I made a few mistakes with this one, but I won't point them out to you :o)

I kept the scene inside the window very simple but you could do so many different things here. The card could easily be adapted for Christmas by adding a Christmas Tree or you could add any sort of furniture or fireplace to give it the whatever look you want :o)

The background panel was embossed using the Brick & Mortar folder. I also embossed the Window Box using the Pinewood Planks folder, but you really don't see much of this.

The Windows were created by using the smallest plain square die from the Layering Squares framelits set. This is very simple to do but does take a little time. I added some Window Sheet/Acetate to give the window a 'realistic' look.

The Vase with the Flowers standing on the sill come from the Vibrant Vases stamp set - I used the coordinating Vases Builder punch to punch out the Vase, but hand-cut the Flowers out.

I used the Grass border die from the Special Day dies set to create the Grass and applied a little Granny Apple Green ink to the top edge. The 'Daisies' were added using a Gelly Roll White pen.

The Special Day dies were one of the coordinating products available during our recent Sale-a-Bration promotion. They are not available at the moment but will be returning with our new Annual Catalogue in June.

The Treat Holder was very quick and simple to make. I used one of the Printed Gusseted Celo Bags from the Spring/Summer Mini catalogue.

The top was created using the largest of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I cut two, stamping the sentiment on the front one using Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossing with Clear powder.

The cello bag was stapled to the plain die-cut and then I added the front one using dimensionals.

Here is the Video for the card ...
