Very Versailles - Technique: Embossing With Toilet Roll - Video Tutorial

I have a Technique Video to share with you today. This will show you how to emboss using Toilet Roll.

The same technique works for any type of soft tissue - for instance paper napkins, Kitchen Roll or Facial Tissue, like Kleenex.

The results you get with it are gorgeous. It will give a lovely soft texture with a beautiful deep embossing. You should get little or no cracking at all and it's something different to try without the need for extra special equipment.

I used the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder. After embossing, I added a light colour using a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink. I wanted to give my card a little vintage feel.

I stamped the inside of the card to coordinate with the front.

You can use any embossing folder for this technique. The Toilet Tissue I used was 2-ply and I used 3 layers.

Measurements

Note: If you use A4 as your standard sheet of card – follow the metric measurements (cms).

If you use 8½” x 11” as your standard sheet of card – follow the imperial measurements (inches).

         

Pool Party card base                                ½ an A4 standard sheet of card

Very Vanilla (inside)                                 14.4cm x 10cm   (US 5¼” x 4”)

Crumb Cake                                             14.1cm x 9.8cm  (US 5¼” x 4”) 

Toilet Roll – Trimmed to…                      13.8cm x 9.5cm  (US 5⅛” x 3⅞”)

Pool Party                                                13.8cm x 4.8cm  (US 5⅛” x 1⅞”)

Very Vanilla                                              13.8cm x 4.5cm  (US 5⅛” x 1¾”)

You will need extra Very Vanilla and Pool Party card for stamping and die-cutting.
