Itty Bitty Christmas - Pop-Up Gift Card Holder - Video Tutorial

Today's Video will show you how I created these Gift Card Holders.

They are super simple and quick to make :o)

I used paper from the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper pack for this first one. The ribbon is our In Colour Scalloped Linen ribbon in Pretty Peacock. I don't like creating bows with this one as it's one-sided, so created a knot.

The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. This set just contains sentiments and is so useful!

The Very Vanilla mat inside the holder is for you to write a message. I used one of the dies from the Celebration Labels set. You could use any die shape for this mat, or just cut a rectangle.

I used Pretty Peacock card for the base.

The Gift Card 'pops up' when you open the Holder.

This is the Gift Card Holder I created in the Video. I used Garden Green for the base this time.

The gorgeous paper is from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper pack.

I used some of our retired Stitched Satin ribbon in Real Red. This is now retired but you could use any contrasting ribbon you have.

Here is the Video ...

Dandelions 3D Embossing Folder - With Vellum

Here is another card I created during my 'Play Fest' with the Dandelions 3D embossing folder.

This folder is absolutely beautiful and embosses like a dream - no creasing at all!

I decided to try it with a Vellum panel this time - and it came out perfectly. I flipped it over and used my Dark Granny Apple Green Blends alcohol marker to colour in the stems and leaves. Then I backed it onto some Balmy Blue cardstock.

The sentiment comes from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. I embossed the Whisper White strip using the Subtle embossing folder - but of course, I couldn't get it to show up on the photo! :o)

Dandelions 3D Embossing Folder - Technique: Inking Embossing Folders - Video Tutorial

It's been a long time since I've inked up an embossing folder! So ... I thought the Dandelions 3D folder would be a good one to use.

It's a very simple technique to do. Basically, you just cover one side of the embossing folder with ink. For this technique you need to use the debossed side - so the side that has no sticky up bits - it will feel smooth when you touch it. I prefer to use a Rubber Brayer when inking up the folder but you can use a Foam Brayer, Sponge, Sponge Daubers or even swipe or pat your ink pad directly over it. All of these methods will give a different 'look' to the finished result.

I like to use the Rubber Brayer because you get a smooth, even spread of ink.

I used the same colours for both cards, but I switched them around a bit.

The card base is in Cinnamon Cider.

I used Misty Moonlight to ink up the folder for this one. The Ribbons used are the In Colour 1/4" Misty Moonlight ribbon and the Polka Dot Tulle.

This is the card I created in the Video. Pool Party ink was used with the folder this time.

The background panels on both cards were embossed using one of the Meadow Moments folders.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Powder - it comes from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.

The second ribbon used here was from the Magnolia Lane Combo Pack - now retired.
