Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Christmas/Happy Holidays/Winter
Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop for November!
This month's theme is all about Christmas, Happy Holidays or Winter.
I chose to make a Card Box for our standard A2 or A6 cards and some cards to fill it :o)
If you are following along with the Hop, you may have arrived from Katja's Blog.
Be sure to read through my post, comment below and then continue on to Sue's Blog.
If you get lost along the way, you can find a full list of all the participants at the end of each of their Blog Posts.
Here are the projects I created for this month's Hop ...
I used the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and coordinating punches, together with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series paper.
The paper has Copper highlights running through it.
The Box will hold standard-sized cards and envelopes. So as I am in the UK mine holds A6 cards. I have also provided measurements for anyone using A2 sized cards - in the USA and Canada.
The lid is attached to the Box. When closed it is nice and snug and nothing else is needed to hold the lid down.
My Box holds four cards, but it will easily hold five. I wanted to keep the numbers even as I created the cards in pairs. I was actually hoping it would hold six but I made them a little too dimensional and six will not fit. If you wanted to create six similar cards for your Box, just glue the centre panel down flat instead of using Dimensionals and six will fit in perfectly :o)
The card base for these first cards is Pretty Peacock. I also stamped the sentiment and Ornaments in the same colour of ink.
I used the Real Red and Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to colour areas of each of the Ornaments.
The card bases for these next cards are in Night of Navy. Again I used the same colour ink to stamp the sentiment and Ornaments.
This time I coloured the Ornaments in completely using the Real Red and Night of Navy Blends markers.
Here is the Video ...
Measurements
Night Of Navy A6 - 12” x 8½” (US A2 - 12” x 7⅞”)
With the LONG side across the top, SCORE down at:
1”, 5½”, 6½” and 11”
With the SHORT side across the top, SCORE down at:
1” from each side edge
Note: If you use A4 as your standard sheet of card – follow the metric measurements (cms).
If you use 8½” x 11” as your standard sheet of card – follow the imperial measurements (inches).
Real Red 15.9cm x 10.8cm (US 5⅝”x 4¼”)
Brightly Gleaming DSP 15.6cm x 10.5cm (US 5½”x 4⅛”)
Night of Navy 9.5cm x 6.5cm (US 3¾” x 2 9/16”)
You will need extra Very Vanilla card to complete the project.
