Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Birthday Celebrations

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop for January!

This month's theme is all about Birthday Celebrations!

I chose to create a Box to hold a Small Bottle of Wine and a coordinating Card.

If you are following along with the Hop, you may have arrived from Jo's Blog.

Be sure to read through my post, comment below and then continue on to Steph's Blog.

If you get lost along the way, you can find a full list of all the participants at the end of each of their Blog Posts.

Here are the projects I created for this month's Hop ...

I mainly used products from the new Hydrangea Hill Product Suite. This can be found in the 2021 January to June Mini Catalogue starting on page 18.

The Wine Box is a new style for me, I haven't made anything like this before. It took a little time to work out, but is not that difficult to create. My video gives you step by step instructions if you want to give it a go :o) It's definitely different!

The Box measures 3½” square and is 7" tall.

Here you can see the beautiful slanted sides of the box. You need to be accurate with your measuring for these, but again, it's not difficult :o)

And here is how the Box looks fully open. The Wine Bottle is 127ml and just slots inside. There is a little tray in the bottom to hold it steady.

I used all the same products and techniques to create the card. The Hydrangea Hill Designer Papers are absolutely gorgeous.

I have double layered the flower head. The second layer was cut with a special die in the coordinating Hydrangea dies set. This cuts individual flower shapes but leaves them attached so you can 'pop' them up for more dimension if you wish to.

I love the sentiments in the Hydrangea Haven stamp set but I just wanted a simple Happy Birthday for this set - it comes from the Art Gallery stamp set.

Here is the Video ...

Measurements

Gorgeous Grape                                      A4/11”/12” x 7½” – MAIN SECTION

With the SHORT side across the TOP, score down at 2½” and 5”

With the LONG side across the TOP, score down at 2½”, 7½” and 9½”

Turn back so the first SHORT side is across the TOP and score down to the SECOND horizontal score line at 2” and 5½”

Pencil mark on each of the sides at 4½” up from the BASE.

Gorgeous Grape                                      7½” x 7½” – TOP SECTION

Score one side at 2½” and 5”

Turn and score at 2½”

Pencil mark on each of the sides at 4½” down from the TOP.

Gorgeous Grape                                      8x 3½” – FRONT SLANTED SECTION

With the SHORT side across the TOP, score down at ½” and 3”

With the LONG side across the TOP, score down at 2½” and 4½”

Gorgeous Grape                                       3½” x 3½” – INSIDE TRAY

NOTE: This actually needs to be just a tiny bit less than 3½” square – take a slither off two sides. The tray needs to fit snuggly inside so it doesn’t move.

Score at ½” on all sides.

Hydrangea Hill DSP Mats

12.3cm x 6cm     (4” x 2⅜”) x 6 – 3 for the Main Section and 3 for the Top Section

6cm x 6cm          (2⅜” x 2⅜”) x 1 – Top of the Lid

Pencil mark for the SIDE mats should be at 4.8cm (1”)

90cm                           (36”)                    Ribbon approx..

You will need extra Whisper White card to complete the project.
