Stampin Friends Blog Hop - Celebrating Men

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop for May!

This month's theme is 'Celebrating Men'. So this month's projects have a masculine theme.

If you are following along with the Hop, you may have arrived from  Maureen's Blog.

Be sure to read through my post, comment below and then continue on to Barb's Blog.

If you get lost along the way, you can find a full list of all the participants at the end of each of their Blog Posts.

Here are the projects I made for this month's Hop ...

For this month's Hop I created two Fancy Fold cards and boxes to gift them in.

I've called the fold a Concertina Display card although I've no idea if it has a 'proper' name :o)

You can find a Video showing you how I created these cards below.

I kept the Boxes very simple. These are my standard box size to hold any 6"x4" card. If you are interested in creating them, you will find all the details HERE.

I used Soft Suede card for the card base for this first one and Tahitian Tide for the layer underneath the paper.

The paper is from the Neutrals 6" Designer Series Paper pack but the designs I used are retired. We still have the packs with the same colours, but the designs have changed.

You need a card base of 12"x6" - so half a sheet of 12"x12" card. If you haven't got any 12" card in the colour you want you can still create one using your standard size card stock - I show you how to do this in the Video.

The card is quite versatile in how you display it - the concertina folds allow it to stand easily.

Here you can see the shape of the card from the top.

This is the card fully opened out.

... and the reverse of the card, where you would write your message.

This is the card I created in the Video. I used Evening Evergreen for the base and Cajun Craze for the layer.

The paper comes from the 2021 - 2022 In Color 6" Designer Series Paper pack and the patterns used are our new current ones :o)

Four stamp sets were actually used to create this card.

Seas The Day is the main one but I also used a couple of images from the Whale Done set.

The horizontal image mats were stamped using the Gentle Waves stamp set to add a little colour and interest and I used the Biggest Wish stamp set for the main sentiment.

Either of these cards would be perfect for a masculine birthday. But it would be simple to change the colour of the card stock and layers to make it more 'feminine' if you wished to :o)

This is a very quick and easy Fancy Fold card to create :o)

The card fully opened ...

... and closed in its Box.

Here is the Video for the Card ...
